Yixing Teapots

Yixing teapot, pronounced yee shing, is a distinctive tea vessel or teapot made from reddish stoneware. Yixing is a town near Shanghai - "The Pottery Capital of China". Yixing was the first to create a teapot in China. Our selection of Yixing tea vessels maintains the traditional Yixing design. After prolonged use the Yixing pot develops a certain patina that retains some of the taste, scent, and color of tea. These vessels are very usable - but very much a decorative work of art.
